Who We Are
A Family Passion for Bernese Mountain Dogs
Mountain Meadow Kennels is a small, family-run breeder nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountain region. Our love for Bernese Mountain Dogs runs deep — these gentle giants have been a part of our family for years, and we are passionate about sharing that joy with other families.
We started breeding Berners because we wanted to do it right. We were frustrated by the lack of transparency and care we saw in other programs, so we set out to build something different — a kennel where health, temperament, and family come first, every single time.
Our mission goes beyond placing family pets. We are deeply passionate about breeding and training Bernese Mountain Dogs for emotional support animal (ESA) and therapy dog work. Berners have a natural gentleness, patience, and intuitive empathy that makes them exceptional in these roles, and we are actively working to place dogs in therapeutic settings where they can make a real difference in people's lives.
Our puppies are born in our home and raised underfoot. They are handled daily from birth, socialized with children, other dogs, and the sounds and rhythms of everyday family life. By the time they go home with you, they are confident, curious, and ready to love.

Health First
We health test all of our breeding dogs for hips, elbows, eyes, and heart. We breed for longevity, soundness, and the calm temperament required for therapy and ESA work.
Family Kennel
We are a small, family-run kennel. We plan only a few litters each year so that every puppy receives the individual attention and care they deserve.
Lifetime Support
When you bring home a Mountain Meadow puppy, you become part of our family. We are always here to answer questions and support you throughout your dog's life.
Our Philosophy
Breeding for Family, ESA & Therapy Work
We believe that a great Bernese Mountain Dog starts long before the puppy is born. It starts with choosing the right parents — dogs with sound structure, proven health testing, and the kind of calm, gentle temperament that makes them exceptional family companions, emotional support animals, and therapy dogs.
Bernese Mountain Dogs are uniquely suited for therapy and ESA work. Their intuitive sensitivity, patience, and desire to be close to people make them naturals in hospitals, schools, care facilities, and homes where emotional support is needed. We are committed to developing this potential through intentional breeding and early socialization.
We keep our litters small and intentional. We do not breed for volume. Each litter is planned carefully, and we take the time to match each puppy with the right family — whether that is a loving home, an ESA placement, or a therapy dog program.
